This is a rare and beautiful St. Gerard Majella antique replica medal from France that reverses to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. This is a shiny sterling silver piece. I am blessed to have this original in my collection and be able to share it with you.
This medal is signed by French artist Penin. Penin is spelled backwards on the St. Gerard side of the medal. The medal is 5/8 inch diameter.
One side says "Saint Gerard Majella Priez PN" (pour nous) which means St. Gerard Majella Pray for Us. The other side says "ND (Notre Dame) du Perpetuel Secours Priez Pour Nous" which means Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pray for Us.
There is an option of the "Prayer for Expectant Mothers" or the "Prayer for Fertility" box insert (or no prayer).
The medal dangles on a dainty 1.5 mm stainless steel satellite chain with 2mm beads. You may choose from a fixed length chain or an adjustable one that can be fastened at 18 inches or 20 inches. This chain is beautiful and non-maintenance!
This fine replica piece is cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. This medal is not stamped 925 or sterling because it is identical to the original antique. It will test as .925 sterling silver.
This medal is available in shiny .925 sterling silver, antiqued .925 sterling silver, bronze, antique gold, shiny gold bronze and shiny 1K gold. Please see this link to view options. https://www.etsy.com/shop/HolyMomentsDotCom?search_query=gerard
Saint Gerard is the patron saint of unborn children, childbirth and expectant mothers. I can personally attest to the intercession of St. Gerard with the pregnancy of my first child. I was dialated 2 centimeters, hospitalized and expected to deliver at 30 weeks. My mother-in-law gave me a stuffed bear with a St. Gerard medal attached and his prayer card. We all prayed for St. Gerard's intercession. Doctors could not explain how my cervix closed back up and I delivered my son at 38 weeks.
This is a Holy Moments® Original piece.
Thank you for visiting my Holy Moments Etsy Shop! This has been my personal shopping account on Etsy for years. I recently decided to open an Etsy shop and display a selection of products from my established Holy Moments on-line and show company (HolyMoments.com).
The artisan jewelry and rosaries are unique to Holy Moments. Many pieces are only a few of a kind due to limited availability of certain gemstones or hand cast items. New, exciting products are always being added to both the Etsy shop and company website.
A portion of profits are donated to the Cancer Research Institute in New York, a leader in immunotherapy research. Please read my shop story for more.
